Alisdair and Ella's story is a fabulous one! It draws you right in! From Ella's unconventional meeting with Alisdair, to their fateful connection and the way they are drawn to each other. I love the era that this story is based in, and so many of the traditions just add so much to their story. You then also get the smaller fantasy aspect that is added in that moves this away from just being a historical romance to having that magical element, and it really just adds to the story. I love how the Fate story line carries through from book 1 to this book, and how the string to the next book in the series is included as well. Alison E Steuart does a fabulous job of linking this series together.

From start to finish, the love story between these two soulmates, Ella and Alasdair, is absolutely beautiful! I read The Power of Fate on a long flight to California and caught myself multiple times looking up to make sure no one heard me laugh out loud or saw my face when I was near tears.
The description of the various places, castles and gardens were so vivid, I was easily able to picture myself there. I was especially intrigued and fascinated by the Scottish folklore in the story and did some research myself so I could learn more.
My only regret is that this wonderful story had to come to an end. I only hope the author decides to write another book about the life of Alasdair and Ella because I miss the characters and just want MORE!
